Opinion on energy companies? Does it make sense at this point to create a new position/buy into an existing one? 🤔

After all, these companies are not AI related, so growth there of 10% over the last year is fine in my opinion (I'm talking about $XOM and $SHELfor example ). But what direction could this market be heading? I do believe in a positive scenario, namely that a "golden era" for these companies awaits thanks to the new US president, opposite Biden who bans offshore drilling and promotes clean energy.

I just don't care much for this sector, but I agree and js very likely that Trump's policies will help these companies significantly.

The company is likely to do well and so its share price could be at least the same or higher. I have a few shares of $XOM, but I'm not looking to buy more.
